The Asian Heritage Street Celebration, billed as the largest gathering of Asian Pacific Americans in the nation, is back and bigger than ever.
It will feature Asian American artists, DJs, martial arts, today’s Asian pop culture, J-cars, a muay Thai kickboxing ring, food, a karaoke contest, arts and crafts, anime, free community health screenings and prizes.
The fourth annual Asian Heritage Street Celebration will be held Saturday, May 17, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in San Francisco’s Japantown, where the first AHSC was held in 2005. The second was held in the Sunset District and the third was held in the South of Market area.
The AHSC, an observance of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, is organized by the AsianWeek Foundation in cooperation with over 150 organizations in the local Asian American community.
The foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 committed to developing Asian American community. All the proceeds from the celebration are donated to local and national charities.
