S.F. Japantown Clean-up

The Japantown Task Force, along with the San Francisco Chapter of the Japanese American Citizens League, will host a Japantown Community Clean- Up Day on Saturday, March 29, from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
Darryl Abantao of JTF said, “Everyone is invited to spend the morning to help with the clean-up, which will involve sweeping, trash pickup and graffiti removal.So far we have commitments from Boy Scout Troop 58, Hotel Kabuki, Japanese Community Youth Council and the Sequoias, who will provide volunteers, along with support from Nihonmachi Parking Corporation and Hotel Kabuki, who will provide a light lunch and refreshments for the volunteers. Japantown Merchants Association and Japantown Parking Garage will provide refreshments.
“Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi has committed his support along with Department of Public Works to this community event.”
The volunteers will meet at the Peace Plaza (Post and Buchanan), where they will pick up their tools and assignments. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own work gloves or they may use ones provided by DPW.
