Amy Kimura Schoemehl, 2000 Northern California Cherry Blossom Queen, and attorney/musician George Yamasaki Jr. will serve as emcees of the 2008 Cherry Blossom Queen Program, to be held Saturday, April 12, at 7 p.m. at the Sundance Kabuki Cinema, Post and Fillmore in San Francisco Japantown.
Schoemehl, an executive recruiter with Google, co-emceed last year's program with John Sasaki of KTVU-TV. Yamasaki, an attorney and a pianist, regularly emcees the Cherry Blossom Festival’s outdoor entertainment on the Peace Plaza Stage and serves as the announcer at the reviewing stand for the Grand Parade.
