NANCY COLVIN |
The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of Ikebana International will hold its monthly meeting and present a demonstration by special guest Nancy Colvin on Friday, April 18, at 12 noon at the San Francisco County Fair Building, 9th Avenue and Lincoln Way in Golden Gate Park.
For three consecutive years, Colvin won the distinguished title of Arranger of the Year from the California State Garden Clubs. She will present the final program of the 2007-08 season with arrangements based on her four decades of creative floral design.
Colvin’s work has been featured in several “Visions of Beauty” calendars for the last six years.
Beginning in the 1960s, she competed in state fairs and won sweepstakes repeatedly for her floral creations. A resident of the Bay Area since 1971, she has presented programs and workshops for many national, regional and state conventions and judging councils.
She has been a speaker for the Creative Floral Arrangers of the Americas at national conventions and was featured speaker at the National Flower Arrangers Convention, which published 12 of her designs in 2006.
Colvin is a member of many floral design groups, including the Advanced Flower Designers Guild, the Bay Area Arrangers, and the Santa Cruz Garden Club.
