2007 Nikkei Matsuri
30th Annual Spring Festival in San Jose

The spring festival called Nikkei Matsuri, celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, is San Jose Japantown's biggest event. Originally one of several mini-festivals held around San Jose to mark the city's bicentennial, Nikkei Matsuri is now well-known for its food, crafts, cultural displays and entertainment, with the added attractions of Yu-Ai Kai's run and health fair, Suzume no Gakko's activities for kids, and the Farmers Market.

24 Apr 2007 Entertainment, Displays, Food at Nikkei Matsuri (Apr. 27-29)

SAN JOSE — The 30th annual Nikkei Matsuri will be held on Sunday, April 29, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in San Jose Japantown. Entertainment will be presented on two stages, one on the corner of 5th and Jackson streets and the other inside the San Jose Buddhist Church Betsuin Annex, also on 5th near Jackson. SAN JOSE — Organizers of the 30th annual Nikkei Matsuri have announced that they are dedicating this year’s festival to Roy and PJ Hirabayashi of San Jose Taiko.
